Is This Rugged Holder Right for You?
This holder is best for customers who place a higher priority on secure physical retention than quick one-handed phone removal.
Choose the Rugged Phone Holder when:

Because the holder is secured around the phone with two hands, A-Tach’s other phone holders may be more convenient for ordinary daily driving where frequent one-handed phone attachment and removal are important.
Measure Your Phone and Case Before Ordering
Phone model names alone do not determine compatibility. You must measure the phone while it is inside the case you intend to use.
The complete phone-and-case combination must fall within all three of these ranges:
Width: 2½–3¼ inches (63.5–82.55 mm)
Height: 4?–6? inches (120–170 mm)
Maximum thickness: 9/16 inch (15 mm)
Cases can add substantial height, width and thickness to a phone. Rugged cases, wallet cases, kickstands, finger grips and battery cases may cause the complete device to exceed the holder’s limits.
Measure the device at its widest, tallest and thickest points before ordering.
Designed for Phones With Protective Cases
Many customers who travel on rough roads protect their phones with rugged or impact-resistant cases. This holder can accommodate many cased phones when the complete dimensions remain within its adjustment range.
Before ordering, check for:
The phone should sit evenly inside the holder without forcing the retaining arms beyond their intended range.
Locking Retention for Bumpy Conditions
The holder tightens around the phone to provide a secure physical grip. Unlike a magnetic holder, it does not depend on the magnetic strength of the phone or case.

Strong Metal 17 mm Ball Adapter
The holder now includes a metal 17 mm ball adapter for increased strength at the adjustment point.
The swivel assembly lets you tilt and rotate the holder to position the screen for visibility. Once the desired angle is selected, tighten the adjustment ring to help lock the holder in place.

Keep Your Charging Port Accessible
The open holder design keeps the phone’s charging port accessible for a compatible charging cable.
This holder does not provide wireless charging. If you need charging during use, connect the phone to an appropriate charging cable and power source.
Route the cable so it cannot become tangled in the handlebars, controls, steering components or other moving parts.

When using the Rugged Phone Holder in a car, truck or van, pair it with an A-Tach dash mount designed for your vehicle’s exact year, make, model and dashboard configuration.
A-Tach’s two-part system allows you to select each component separately:

Depending on the vehicle, A-Tach dash mounts attach to existing dashboard seams or trim without drilling holes into the dashboard. They do not rely on a windshield suction cup or air-vent clip.

Bar-Mount Options for Recreational Vehicles
For ATVs, UTVs, motorcycles, bicycles, scooters and similar applications, pair the holder with a compatible A-Tach bar mount.
Confirm that the selected bar mount fits the diameter and shape of your vehicle’s mounting bar or handlebar. The bar mount is not included with this holder and must be ordered separately.

Will it fit a phone with a rugged case?
It can fit many rugged cases, provided the complete phone-and-case combination stays within all three dimensional limits.
Pay particular attention to raised corners, kickstands, camera guards and other areas that increase the case’s overall size.
Why does the phone need to be measured inside its case?
A case changes the phone’s height, width and thickness. Two customers using the same phone may require different holders because their cases have different dimensions.
Is this holder magnetic?
No. It physically grips and locks around the phone. It does not require a magnetic phone, MagSafe case or adapter ring.
Does it provide wireless charging?
No. This is a non-charging holder. The phone’s charging port remains accessible for a compatible cable.
Can I attach and remove the phone with one hand?
This holder is designed to be secured with two hands. Its priority is firm physical retention during rough-road use.
If quick one-handed attachment is more important, consider an A-Tach magnetic or standard adjustable holder.
Is it suitable for ordinary cars and trucks?
Yes, when paired with a compatible A-Tach vehicle-specific dash mount. However, customers who drive primarily on paved roads may find another A-Tach holder more convenient for everyday use.
Is it suitable for motorcycles, ATVs and UTVs?
Yes. These are among the applications for which the holder is particularly well suited. A compatible bar mount is required and purchased separately.
Does it include a vehicle or bar mount?
